Uganda: Alienating Gays, Lesbians Will Spark Backfire

Hi gloria,

I was just reading your post and it seems you only have the first 2 paragraphs of the story. I followed it up at Allafrica.com.

In response, I grieve for the homos and lesbians in my lovely country. But while I give in to the fact that they need this HIV care; I also concede to the fact that institutionalising their HIV care in all organisations would be the first step to admitting and legalising this criminal activity in my country. I have to protect my kids and their destiny in this country. Giving the homos this HIV care would be akin to giving thieves and robbers a daily hangout saying: we know you are robbers but we can not stop you.

I continue to stand against homosexuality and any form of its legalisation in this country and I also continue to grieve for those practising this dangerous habit. But my grief for them cannot override my desire for a safe healthy Uganda.

Uganda oyee!!
